Welcome to the SQL Angeles

 

SQL Angeles is a Korean LA/OC IT community group that is studying various IT technologies and sharing the communication among members. We operate various study group (database, programming, and machine learning) and many people are active in the group. We are all pursuing nonprofits and volunteering for each group leader. We will recruit more people and do more service. And we will grow.

Build ETL efficiently (10x) with Minimal Logging

Simon Cho, Staff Database Enginner Visa Inc

This session is designed to teach DBAs and developers the best strategy to transfer large data. We will first analyze how data gets accessed from the source and how data gets updated or inserted to the target server: index access patterns in read operations and minimal logging in write operations. I will introduce TF610 and cover its benefit for minimal logging even in full recovery mode.

About Simon:
Simon is one of founder for SQLAngeles.com which is Los Angeles Korean Tech community group in SQLPass.org. In the past, he lead a database team and managed hundreds of SQL servers and DWs on VM environment in Nexon America, Inc, the North American publishing arm of NEXON Co. Ltd. which hold a world record of concurrent users. As a Visual Studio champ, Simon contributed to fixing several stored procedures and schema design in Microsoft Release Management and resolved critical blocking and performance issues. He moved his passion to VISA Inc, the largest credit card provider in the world, he led a database technology to build a strong solution and a secure environment with new strategies and features to maintain thousands of SQL ser
